Navajo Sterling Silver Tommy Singer Eagle Earrings
Product Code: ER1721
Name: Navajo Sterling Silver Eagle Earrings by the late Tommy Singer
Description:
These nice Sterling Silver Eagle earrings were intricately designed and handmade by renowned Navajo artist Tommy Singer. Tommy has oxidized part of the sterling silver to give these earrings a truly unique look. These earrings measure 1-7/8” tall by 1-1/4” wide (including the French wires). The eagle is believed to be a connection with the divine, a soaring spirit that transcends personal problems, creator, teacher, and great integrity.
We purchased these earrings from Tommy on May 26th 2014, 5 days before he passed away. Tommy Singer was born in 1940 and passed away May 31, 2014. He was from Winslow, Arizona where he lived with his wife Rose and their children and grandchildren. Tommy was a regarded silversmith and is known throughout the world for his jewelry work. His overlay pieces incorporate the most traditional of Navajo design – designs that have endured for years and years. Many of these designs are of Navajo rugs and other traditional designs.
Tommy was an outstanding artist and friend! There are some rumors going around that say that Tommy was ill, we can tell you he was not. This is absolutely NOT true. Tommy and Rose did come up with a new hallmark two years ago which is T&R Singer. Once all of the items he made are sold, the family will be signing the new jewelry with the T&R Singer hallmark. This piece is signed T. Singer. Quantity Available: 1
